In the past, Microsoft has provided glossaries in self-extracting Zip files.
However, in this release, all glossaries are provided in standard WinZip files which requires users to license the appropriate WinZip software in order to open these files. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

These glossaries are for informational purposes and provided only as a convenience. The entire risk of use or results in connection with the use of these glossaries and the information contained herein remains with the user.


Customer feedback has shown that many of our customers use Microsoft Excel to open the glossary files. If you happen to use Excel, please note the following steps for the best way of displaying the content of the files in Excel:

- Open Microsoft Excel (do not double click on the file icon).
- Go to File -> Open
- In Files of type, select ”Text Files” and browse to the folder where the CSV is stored.
- Select the file you wish to open.
- click Open and the Text Import Wizard opens.
- Select Delimited and click Next.
- Check the Comma delimiter and uncheck any other default checked delimiters. 
- Make sure the text qualifier is the quotation marks (”). 
- Click Finish.

Note: Some of the glossaries are too large to be opened directly in Microsoft Excel (which has a limit of 65536 rows). In these cases you can open the file with a text editor (such as Notepad) and split the file in two before opening it in Excel. Alternatively, you can import the glossaries into a database tool (such as Microsoft Access).
